Community Credit Union strives to live the Co-operative Principles every day. One of the seven Cooperative Principles is: Concern For Community.
Community Credit Union commits in excess of $100,000 to the benefit of many organizations within our communities annually. This commitment has resulted from numerous fundraising activities, donating personal time and as corporate sponsorships.
Here are some of highlights of our Credit Union’s community involvement:
- The Credit Union’s Bursary Program awarded twelve $1,000 bursaries to High School graduates pursuing post-secondary education. Since the inception of the Bursary Program, Community Credit Union has awarded over $130,000 to students of Cumberland and Colchester County to date.
- Junior Achievement Programs The Amherst Branch participated in a Junior Achievement Program called “Economics For Success” at the Amherst High School. And, for the third consecutive year, the Truro Branch participated in Junior Achievement’s “Pitch It” program held at the RECC in Truro.
- Annual Food Drive – Our Truro and Amherst Teams were fully involved with this extremely important program, and with the support of our Members, collected a total of $1,721 and 133 lbs of food for donation to our local food banks.
